Arrianna Matthieus, an American-Iranian blogger based in the United States writes about animal rights in Iran. Blogger says “In present day Iran, the cultural tradition has long overlooked the fact that dogs were highly esteemed in ancient Persia and that animals were protected from harm, and yet, in the Islamic Regime everything and anything that growls or bites is shut away and ignored. So I ask, what does Iran do about animal rights? Animals have the right to exist without pain and suffering too, no matter what the religious scholar told you in high school.”
