Spain: What You Want to Hear

As handy and effective as the text-based Internet is, it sure doesn't communicate emotions well. Not like film. Which is why I wholeheartedly recommend that everyone watches Guillermo Zapata's short film, Lo que tú quieras oír (What you want to hear). Licensed with Creative Commons, even if you don't understand Spanish, you'll still get the allusion to today's “remix culture” in a heartfelt portrayal of post-breakup healing. You can also watch the film via YouTube on Fernando Casale's ZonaIndie.

    Guillermo Zapata.

Editor’s Translation: I’m Guillermo Zapata, director of the short film, Lo que tú quieras oír (“What You’d Like to Hear”). I write to express thanks for linking to the film on your blog. Thanks to it, not only have you supported this project, but also free culture, the copyleft, and the Creative Commons licenses facing the logic of restrictive copyright.

Thanks to you and a ton of other people who, using the net, have circulated and copied it, just a few hours ago the short film (First professional one in Spain whit this type of license) has received 150,000 visits in YouTube in six months. I’ve also written a post in my blog with a list of the blogs thatt have linked to the film and helped it’s diffusion.

For the moment, this is the only thing that has occurred to me as a recognition of your generosity. In any situation, I am open to any idea, suggestion, or proposal that seems interesting to do. You don’t have to do anything other than write to this very email address or respond to this comment.

    A grateful greeting,
    Guillermo Zapata.
