Larry Smith discusses [1] the recent US-Caricom meeting in the Bahamas in the context of both recent US foreign policy and Condolezza Rice's career. He quotes a Bahamian diplomat, who says: “The policies of the US are not producing the results that it desires, and therefore how should friends of the US respond to those policies that are producing such disastrous results? A true friend is one who will point out your mistakes, and who will not encourage you in your wrongdoing. If I am right, then CARICOM and the Bahamas have been true friends to the US, because they have refused to support misguided policies.”
