Not surprising. The kind of Chávez´ supporters that Oil Wars represents, where cheerful when oil workers were expelled from their homes, and their children were forced to leave the schools they attended.
They are glad when they see former oil workers selling hot dogs in the street or driving taxis. They even complaint about Nigerian, Mexican or Norwegian companies being able to hire these workers.
I don’t think anyone is glad to see anyone suffer. But as the oil wars blog points out these people who had an elite position were willing to cause immense suffering for all their mostly poorer countrymen just to try to get political power for themselves. Many people lost their jobs, couldn’t earn a living, and could barely eat because of their irressponsible actions. Thank god someone put their foot down on this kind of selfish and irresponsible actions.
