I enjoyed the teachings of two American volunteers in the late 1990s in Bishkek. One worked at school # 13. They taught me the responsibilities of democracy. They warned me of inaction, and the possibilities of A.A.’s egotism. I laughed then. I cried later. Because I listened, I am happy now. Now, I am far from home, but I would like to hear the stories of others who may have known these teachers. I do not remember their full names. Mr. Scott and Ms. Geeta? Please respond, anyone.
