President Bush is visiting India and Pakistan this week. Mr. Bush's visit comes on the heels of President Bill Clinton's private visit to India.
The Prez's upcoming visit has created quite a buzz in the media and among bloggers. I have a list here of some news links. Apparently the non-visit of the Prez to Taj Mahal has become a topic of debate among American bloggers. Rich says that “Incurious George Goes to India.” Delilah Boyd asks “Would you rather be beloved or reviled?” While Morse of Media Needle comments in Travels with George that maybe the Governess will in the Prez with relevant details.
John Mather shares his pictures of the Taj, and mentions a travel guide's fond hope that Mr. Bush will visit the Taj, just as Mr. Bill Clinton did a few years ago. And here is Royally Cranked has his take on the visit.
Jeevan from Chennai has a nice write-up about the Prez's visit, and also on why the Left Party is protesting the visit. Arun offers his set of cue cards for the President on visit to India.
The Prez's visit to Pakistan has some bloggers protesting. Arzoo says No to Mr. Bush. Ayesha discusses the new map of Kashmir that the Pakistani embassies have been floating around as reported by the Daily Times newspaper. Tharwa Community has a post on how President Bush must urge the end of military rule in Pakistan.
