I would add, not just in blogging. Exchanges over virtual space makes stupidity even more violent but even in daily vital space the approach most people make toward language is not one of seeking dialogue. Rather, it appears we are at end game. The world simply can nor support so many billions of people (a sustainable number might be under 2 billion) So, there is no where for the angry to go and so they self destruct by starting wars and hope for some rapture in the blood and gore.
