Venezuela: Lack of Coffee and Inspiration

A.M. Mora y Leon had a difficult time finding coffee in Caracas during a recent visit and directs readers to a satirical explanation of the coffee shortage at Caracas Chronicles. Orlidroit can't find inspiration (ES) writing in a global medium like the internet while living in a small petroleum town like Anzoátegui.

I can’t feel very sorry for Orlidroit. At least he has access to the Internet, which most people in Anzoategui probably don’t have.
And he can read books and watch TV, and maybe get a job.
There’s no excuse for boredom in this life.
Rev: I travelled a lot in poor neighborhoods in Caracas. Internet cafes were more plentiful there than they were in rich neighborhoods. The average cost was BS1000 an hour, or about 35 cents an hour at the official non-black-market rate. For certain people, that is still out of reach and it’s fair to say I did not see many cafes in rural areas far from Caracas. Still, the fact is: these cafes in at least some poor urban neighborhoods are thriving, so I would not rule out that there could be Internet access in Anzoategui against expectation, too.
