China: Bothered by the BBC

Worried that he'd be forced to focus on censorship & politics, Chinese blogger wangpei canceled an interview with the BBC on the Chinese bloggers’ conference, and feels thankful that he did ^[1]. He emailed a friend in Dublin, who responded ^[2]: “Overall, you need to realise that very few people in the west like to be interviewed for fear of being disgraced…If we want a free and independent media, we have to be prepared to be grilled, twisted and tormented by the media.”
