I'm currently in Washington D.C. at the Freedom to Connect conference. There is a live audio stream and live chat, linked from the top of the conference website.
The conference tagline: "The future of telecommunications is in play. Freedom to Connect will shape the debate."
I'll be speaking on Global Voices in a panel this afternoon. My focus: in order to create a more democratic global media and a more representative global conversation, we must aspire to easy and cheap internet access for all people on the globe. This may be through wireless mobile devices, not through broadband and PC's, but the ability to connect to and engage in the global conversation is key.

Are you enjoying Washington Rebecca? I hear the air is a little hot over there, as it often is in any centre of policy making governance.
