How to set up a free videoblog

(Corrected with more info.)

It looks pretty easy, for anybody from anywhere. Thanks to these simple instructions created by Michael Verdi and emailed to GV by Peter Van Dijck.

Peter points to what he says is the most complete video blog directory to date.

It would be great if people would like to translate these instructions into other languages: Chinese, Arabic, Russian, Farsi, Spanish, French, Portugese would be especially good to have. If you do a translation on your blog, please post the link to the translation at the bottom of this post, and Global Voices will compile a directory.

(UPDATE: Peter has already done the first translation in Dutch.)

Also note that Boston videoblogger Steve Garfield often puts a lot of technical tips and guidelines on his blog. Check out his guide to promoting your videoblog. Steve points out that the new site, Ourmedia will be a great resource for videobloggers as well.

Also, if you know of great videoblogging taking place around the world, please let us know. We should index the world's videobloggers too.

You mentioned that “….it would be great if people would like to translate these instructions into other languages: Chinese, Arabic, Russian, Farsi, Spanish, French, Portugese would be especially good to have…”

Perhaps you could include AltaVistas Babel Fish box in the freevlog’s sidebar so that readers can quickly translate the page into their language of choice. Babel Fish Translate is available in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese.

“Adding Babel Fish Translation to your site is free and easy. Simply choose the tool (or tools) you want for your site, click the “I want this one!” button, then copy and paste the single line of code into your page. “

    Link is here: http://www.altavista.com/help/free/free_searchbox_transl

    Hope it’s useful!
