I had a brief conversation this morning with Julien Pain from the Internet Freedom Desk at Reporters Sans Frontières. He's working on a guide for bloggers and cyberdissidents. It's designed for journalists and activists who may never have used blogs before, and will cover basics of setting up a blog, ways to work around filters and other barriers to information, as well as basic aspects of encryption and cyber security.
Julien is interested in collecting “success stories” of people who've used blogs and other internet technologies to report news that would otherwise be censored. If you've got success stories that might be useful for his book, or ideas about bloggers who might have relevant stories, please post them in the comments section.

Hey Ethan thanks for letting us know that.
He should definitely contact Xiao Qiang from China Digital News. Xiao can point him to some good Chinese examples. I’ve got some stuff here that might be a good starting point: http://rconversation.blogs.com/rconversation/2004/12/the_china_probl.html
