Stories about St. Vincent & the Grenadines from June, 2007
Abeni weighs in on the re-sentencing hearing for those convicted of murdering Grenadian Prime Minister Maurice Bishop and others in 1983.
Abeni is frustrated with the high cost of regional travel in the Caribbean: “LIAT has been getting on my last nerve with their ridiculously high fares…I wish they would just disappear or hopefully realise that their price structure is making them even less relevant.”
Abeni cannot help but recall West Indian poet Paul Keens-Douglas’ parody on beauty shows while watching a local beauty pageant: “We learnt from one contestant that global warming is a good thing for any country in the world. Another seemed to not understand the meaning of the word extracurricular.”
